During the course of the BNP Paribas Showdown at MSG on March 10, 2015 while the tennis stars produce their strokes on court, Ms. Wall will work her brushstrokes and capture all the action including Roger Federer, Grigor Dimitrov, Monica Seles and Gabriela Sabatini on canvas live during the event. This exclusive original painting of these world-class tennis champions will be created by Cortney Wall on World Tennis Day!  The lot listing will be updated with photographs of the work as it is completed.

Cortney Wall is one of a few select women sports artists in the United States. She is most well known for her extraordinary use of color and ability to combine realism with abstraction that gives her sports figures a bold perspective as she brings her paintings to life on the screen.  Growing up as an accomplished athlete in multiple sports with a strong affinity and talent in art, allowed Cortney to produce work that became the centerpiece for the traveling Shades of Greatness exhibit for the Negro Leagues Baseball Museum (NLBM). Cortney’s talent was then recognized by the New York Yankees who commissioned her to paint the starting 2008 line up and CC Sabathia.  Cortney has painted other sports legends including Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Mickey Mantle, Reggie Jackson, Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, Cal Ripken, Ryan Howard, Matt Kemp, Michael Jordan, and Eli Manning.   Cortney’s paintings can be found in the collections of professional athletes, sports memorabilia collectors, museums and businesses.
