Sit down with one of the most influential figures in media for a manicure and conversation with Rachel Adler, Head of CAA News, in New York City.
A 13-year veteran of Creative Artists Agency (CAA), Rachel Adler leads the News department, where she represents many of the world’s foremost journalists, creators, experts, and digital-first media brands. Under Adler’s leadership, the department has broadened its work beyond traditional television representation, helping established voices expand their reach across new platforms while identifying emerging talent building influential audiences outside of traditional media.
Adler represents Peter Alexander (MS NOW), Mary Bruce (Chief White House Correspondent, ABC News), Audie Cornish (Anchor and Host, CNN), Ari Shapiro (CNN), Andrea Mitchell (Chief Foreign Affairs Correspondent and Chief Washington Correspondent, NBC News), Phil Mattingly (Chief Domestic Correspondent, CNN), Tim Miller (The Bulwark), former Representative Beto O’Rourke, former Secretary Pete Buttigieg, former Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and The Wall Street Journal. The News department has also recently expanded its roster with clients including Scott Pelley, Betches, John Kiriakou, and Nayeema Raza. Featured in Variety’s “New York Legends Power List: Mamdani, Matt Damon, the Knicks and the People Who Rule NYC.” Rachel is recognized alongside some of New York City’s most influential figures.
Over the past year, Adler has executed a series of high-profile deals across the television news landscape, including Peter Alexander’s move to MS NOW after 22 years at NBC News and the launch of his new program; Audie Cornish’s deal to anchor CNN This Morning; Garrett Haake’s transition to Senior White House Correspondent at NBC News; and on-air opportunities for Jacob Soboroff and Alicia Menendez at MS NOW. Her team also represents the executive producers of all three network morning shows.
At the same time, Adler has helped evolve the department to meet the changing ways audiences consume news and information. Her work increasingly extends across television, podcasts, newsletters, social and short-form content, live events, brand partnerships, and other emerging formats, helping clients translate their expertise and highly engaged audiences into broader businesses and opportunities. The department represents digital-first media companies and brands including TBPN, Betches, MeidasTouch, and Punchbowl News, while working closely with colleagues across CAA’s Creators and Podcast departments to build opportunities that span multiple areas of the agency.
Adler’s work reflects a broader shift in how news and information personalities build careers. She and her team help clients move fluidly between traditional media, digital platforms, original content, live experiences, and commercial partnerships, while working across CAA to provide the infrastructure and expertise needed to support increasingly multifaceted careers.
