Janet Carol Norton is a scripted television agent at leading entertainment and sports agency Creative Artists Agency (CAA). Based in Los Angeles, Norton represents non-writing executive producers and line producers, including John Amodeo (Shifting Gears, Arrested Development), Kris Eber (The Rehearsal, Loot), Lampton Enochs (Stranger Things), Suzy Greenberg (Frasier, How I Met Your Mother, Seinfeld), Richard Heus (Rabbit Rabbit, Man in the High Castle), Jim Kleverweis (The Franchise, Insecure), and Kip Kroeger (Shrinking, Ted Lasso).
She previously served as an agent at the Broder Webb Chervin Silbermann Agency before joining International Creative Management (ICM) in 2006. In 2012, the agency completed a management buyout and formed a partnership under the new name ICM Partners. Norton was named one of the 25 partners and went on to become a board member of the agency, as well as lead its female initiative. At CAA, Norton continues to represent producers and directors in television and helps lead CAA’s female affinity group, CAA Women.
Norton was named to The Hollywood Reporter’s Next Gen list and has been recognized several times on Variety’s Top 100 Women in Hollywood list.
She holds a BFA in Drama from Carnegie Mellon University and an MFA through CMU and the Moscow Art Theatre School in Russia.
Norton is a past President of Carnegie Mellon University’s West Coast Drama Alumni Clan, where she served on the board for 11 consecutive years. She was instrumental in the early years of the drama school’s showcase of new talent, helping introduce CMU drama graduates to the Los Angeles entertainment community.
She is also a past board member of Carnegie Mellon University’s Andrew Carnegie Society and served as Chair of the Nominating and Awards Committee. In 2005, Norton received an Alumni Service Award from CMU and served as a Governor of the Television Academy for the Professional Representatives peer group for five years.
Norton is the mother of two and resides in the Silver Lake area of Los Angeles.
