Brian Hunter’s public service career spans 27 years in local & federal law enforcement, executive protection and counter-terrorism. Brian's U.S. Secret Service career fell under both the U.S. Treasury and Homeland Security Departments. He served as a “Criminal Investigator” fulfilling the dual mission of securing the monetary system of the U.S., while concurrently providing executive protection for our nation’s top elected officials and visiting heads of state. He served 3 years on the Reagan Protection Detail. After a 3-year assignment with the U.S.S.S. Liaison Division representing the U.S. State Department, Foreign Embassies, F.O.I.A and Capitol Hill, he was selected for the White House Presidential Detail with President Clinton.
His assignments included Presidential Logistics, Transportation, and Domestic & Foreign Trip Advance assignments. He drove the armored limo for Pres. Clinton for 17 months, and coordinated the logistics for Clinton’s 2nd Inauguration. In 1998, Brian Hunter was promoted/transferred to the newly created “Major Events Division” as an “Event Coordinator.” A Presidential Decision Directive had ordered the U.S.S.S. to coordinate the “advance & planning” function of National Special Security Events in a counter terrorism role with the F.B.I and F.E.M.A. These included U.N. General Assemblies, State of the Union Addresses, Political Conventions, Olympic Games, NFL Super Bowls, etc.
Brian Hunter served on numerous foreign protection details & was the Detail/Asst. Detail Leader for President’s Mubarak of Egypt & Sharif of Pakistan, Sharon/Peres/Rabin & Netanyahu of Israel. He supervised the Counterfeit, Human Resources and Protection Squads. His Counterfeit Squad pursued the infamous “Super Note” counterfeit $100 FRN onto the streets of Singapore and Bangkok. He built out a new squad concept – “Counter surveillance” that took a covert role post 9-11-01, surveilling high risk individuals in the L.A. County Region at the request of F.B.I. HQ.
