About Lisa Lampanelli
Two-time Grammy Award nominee Lisa Lampanelli was known for more than 30 years as Comedy's Lovable Queen of Mean. A constant on the comedy scene, she built a career that included countless national tours, 13 appearances on NBC's The Tonight Show, and sold-out performances at both Radio City Music Hall and Carnegie Hall. She became especially well known for her roasting skills, publicly lampooning everyone from David Hasselhoff to Flavor Flav to Pamela Anderson on Comedy Central. Her five one-hour specials on HBO, Comedy Central, and EPIX earned strong ratings, placements on the Billboard charts, and two Grammy nominations for Comedy Album of the Year.
In 2016, Lisa shifted her creative focus and wrote Stuffed, a four-person play exploring food and body-image issues. The play enjoyed two Off-Broadway runs at the Women's Project Theater and the Westside Theatre, helping audiences confront their own experiences with food and body stigma. Her charitable work remains among her proudest accomplishments, including raising $130,000 for Gay Men's Health Crisis during Season 5 of NBC's Celebrity Apprentice and winning an additional $50,000 for the organization on Fox's Celebrity Weakest Link. She is also a passionate supporter of North Shore Animal League America.
Lisa announced her retirement from stand-up comedy on The Howard Stern Show in late 2018. Since then, she has dedicated her time to teaching stand-up and storytelling at the Norwalk Conservatory of the Arts, hosting her iHeartMedia podcast Shrink This!, and serving as Associate Producer of The People Versus Lenny Bruce, produced by Cause Célèbre Productions.
