Shawna Wexler is a Partner and the Chief Strategy Officer at Sugar23. She started her career at CAA in the agency's comedy department, where she solely focused on repping comedians who crossed over into television and film. In 2014, she joined Brillstein Entertainment Partners as a manager and broadened her client list to work with writers, directors, producers, actors, comedians, and personalities. Shawna moved over to Sugar23 in January of 2022. Over the course of her career, Shawnas helped her clients book major roles for Film & TV, produced shows for television, broke new talent, and secured brand partnership opportunities for clients.
Her client roster included Rachel Bloom (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend creator), Rainn Wilson (The Office), Iris Apatow (LOVE), Bret McKenzie (Flight of the Conchords co-creator), writers Jake Weisman & Pat Bishop (This Fool, Corporate), Lauren Lapkus (The Wrong Missy) Noah Gardenswartz (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), London Brown (Power Book III: Raising Kanan), James Davis (Hood Adjacent), Flula Borg (My Spy: The Eternal City, The Suicide Squad) and Alice Lee (The Union, Zoeys Extraordinary Playlist).
During the 2023 SAG and WGA strikes, Shawna explored new opportunities beyond traditional media and expanded her business in the digital space and brand space. She signed influencer Caroline Baudino, who has a booming career in endorsement deals, a podcast, an upcoming book and unscripted show.
Most recently, she left her 22 year career in representation and partnered with Michael Sugar to expand his growing brand strategy at the company bringing Hollywood talent with brands to create premium content.
