This exclusive experience for 4 guests offers a unique opportunity to engage in a 90-minute seated conversation with Melanie, known for her captivating street paintings and award-winning fine art.
Melanie Stimmell Van Latum (born 1975 in Los Angeles) is an international 3D street painter and fine artist known for her large-scale chalk art and Renaissance-inspired imagery. A Signature Member of the Pastel Society of America, she began street painting in 1998 and has since created works at festivals across the U.S. and around the world. Her clients span Turkey, the Netherlands, Canada, France, Thailand, Israel, the Republic of Georgia, China, and the U.S., with commissions for corporations and agencies in TV, film, and print.
A graduate of Art Center College of Design with a degree in Illustration, Stimmell worked as a lead technical director on South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut and the South Park TV series before pursuing art full-time. Based in Las Vegas, she made her Park West Gallery debut during a special New Year’s auction, where all 12 of her featured paintings sold out—along with three additional works still in progress.
Stimmell creates whimsical fine art in soft pastels and oils, often depicting the “divine feminine” surrounded by nature, with her signature touch of sculptural, fantastical hair. In 2021, she and her team, We Talk Chalk, painted the domed ceiling murals in Caesars Palace’s Grand Entrance in Las Vegas. She also exhibits under her married name, Melanie Van Latum, in Southern California galleries.
As co-founder of We Talk Chalk, she has introduced 3D street painting to countries including Israel, Thailand, Colombia, and Georgia, and helped organize major international events—most notably creating the world’s longest anamorphic painting (543 feet) for Smirnoff at Siam Center in 2013.
Stimmell has earned Maestro status in Europe and received Italy’s prestigious Maestro Gold Medal in Grazie di Curtatone. In 2024, she returned to the Meeting of the Madonnari in Italy, earning the Paradiso Maestro Bronze Medal for her interpretation of Dante’s Divine Comedy.
