Timothy Boggs is a Los Angeles-based Artist, Photographer, Writer, Filmmaker, Singer/Songwriter, Voice Actor, and Supervising Sound Editor for movies and Television shows. Tim was born on Halloween night 1958 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. At age 13 Tim and his parents moved to London, England where he discovered his love and talent for art. Tim’s organic style began in his junior year at The American School in London during his ceramic sculpture classes. After graduating High School in 1976, Tim attended The University of Oklahoma, continuing his organic style in sculpture, painting and design, graduating in 1980 with a BFA in Fine Art. For the next 10 years, Tim pursued his interest in filmmaking and in 1985 directed his first feature "Blood Lake" that was released by United Home Entertainment. Over the years, "Blood Lake" gained a small but enthusiastic cult following and was celebrated in 2018 with a World Premiere at Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas, coinciding with its long awaited DVD release. In the summer of 1990, Tim moved his family (a wife, two kids and a dog) to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. Tim found steady work in the film/television industry as a sound editor, ADR supervisor and sound supervisor.
His credits include "Xena: Warrior Princess,” “Bend it Like Beckham,” “The Sopranos,” “Big Love,” “The Bucket List,” “The Good Wife,” “Queen Sugar,” “Fargo” and “Breaking Bad” for which he received his first Emmy nomination for sound editing. After several years away from the visual arts, in 1988 Tim began painting and sculpting again and discovered a great joy he’d been missing. In 2001, Tim found a way to blend three of his creative loves – painting, sculpting and photography into a single art form – what he calls “digital paintings.” In spring of 2010 Tim produced his first solo art show “Organic Abstractions” showing 26 of his digital paintings at The James Gray Gallery in Santa Monica, California. In the summer of 2013 Tim produced his second solo show “Dancing with Light” at the Arty Gallery in downtown Los Angeles. Tim continues to paint, sculpt, photograph, write and create music with his band Karmic Jesters. His works can be enjoyed on his websites ZenArtistLA.com and KarmicJesters.com.
In January 2023, Tim began formally teaching meditation - a practice he has been faithful to since he was 16 years old. Now semi-retired from the film industry, Tim has devoted himself to teaching and mentoring others in the practice of Cleansing Yoga Meditation and how to live a creative and joyful life. His words, philosophy and humorous musings can be found on his website CYmeditation.com.
