The Feeling That the Time for Doing Something Has Passed recently world-premiered in Cannes Directors’ Fortnight and is coming to theaters from Magnolia Pictures. Written and directed by Joanna Arnow, the comedy follows a 30-something New York woman as time passes in her long-term casual BDSM relationship, low-level corporate job, and quarrelsome Jewish family.
Alysia Reiner is best known as "FIG" on all 7 seasons of ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, for which she won a SAG AWARD, (SAG Award), and for originating Agent Sadie Deever in the 2023 Emmy & Critics Choice Award winning MS. MARVEL. Other recent TV includes 5 seasons on Peabody Award-winning BETTER THINGS on F/X x HULU, 2 seasons as Kiki on THE DEUCE (HBO), 2 seasons as Kathryn in Sharon Horgan’s SHINING VALE (w/ Courtney Cox & Greg Kinnear on STARZ). Nominated for Someone to Watch at the Film Independent Spirit Awards, Joanna Arnow is a filmmaker based in Brooklyn. Her fiction feature debut THE FEELING THAT THE TIME FOR DOING SOMETHING HAS PASSED screened at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight, TIFF and New York Film Festival. This feature further develops the self-deprecating personal humor Joanna explored in her feature documentary I HATE MYSELF and first fiction short BAD AT DANCING, which won the Berlinale Silver Bear Jury Prize.
