As Senior Vice President of Original Programming for TNT and TBS, Senior Vice President of Series Programming for the Fox Network, and Executive Producer for Sony Television, McCarthy developed, produced, and launched an extraordinary roster of hit shows. Among McCarthy’s other successful television series credits are the long-running hit Rizzoli & Isles, Stephen Spielberg’s Falling Skies, Michael Bay’s The Last Ship, and Early Edition starring Kyle Chandler. Lillah McCarthy’s career extends from consultant, and network executive to executive producer, studio executive, manager, actor, and director.
Beginning as an actress in New York and regional theatre before joining the television executive ranks, Ms. McCarthy quickly rose from a current programming executive at ABC to senior executive positions at two networks, first at Fox, and more recently at Turner, where she supervised the development of all series programming at TNT and TBS for twelve years. In between those positions, McCarthy supervised television development for Stephen Cannell and Arnold Kopelson and had a producing deal at Sony Television, where she also directed half-hour comedies. After her years at TNT and TBS, Lillah was named Head of Television for Allison Shearmur Productions. Presently, Lillah runs her own production company as well as a coaching and consulting business. She recently consulted for Imagine Entertainment, helping to create and develop a television series for the Chinese marketplace. She is also an adjunct professor at the AFI. McCarthy is a member of the DGA, SAG, the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, the Hollywood Radio & Television Society, Women In Film, and a founding member and vice president of GreenLight Women, an organization whose mission is to support and advocate for women over 40 in the entertainment business.
