The Archdiocese of Philadelphia recently marked the second anniversary of The World Meeting of Families—Philadelphia 2015 and the visit of Pope Francis, which took place in Philadelphia September 22-27, 2015.

More than 20,000 registered delegates representing over 100 countries attended the World Meeting of Families Congress, making it the largest in the history of this triennial Vatican sponsored initiative.

Approximately 1,000,000 people attended the Papal Mass on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway on Sunday, September 27th in addition to record crowds for Pope Francis’ other public events including an address at Independence Hall as well as the Festival of Families and three Papal parades on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The Holy Father also made private appearances at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility, and Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. The FIAT 500L being auctioned by the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to benefit the 2017 Catholic Charities Appeal was used by the Holy Father for ground transportation at some of the events noted above.

  • Bidder agrees to not use the Property in a manner in contravention of the moral, ethical and social teachings of the Roman Catholic Church.
  • At the close of the Auction, Winning Bidder shall agree in writing to the foregoing conditions, and Organization reserves the right to discontinue the Property’s sale to a Winning Bidder unable or unwilling to agree to such terms.
