The DOME Project & Strycker's Bay

Two veteran New York City nonprofits, DOME Project and Strycker’s Bay Neighborhood Council, have been on the frontlines serving the Upper West Side Community for over fifty years. This year the two organizations have partnered to form The West Side Commons (The Commons). As The Commons we are now able to expand our services and serve 500 families and 600 youth in our community through six days of comprehensive year-round programming.

We believe in building and supporting neighborhood perseverance and self-determination through projects and programs focused on area residents, and by building collaborations with community stakeholders. Our programs provide a holistic approach to serving youth and family needs. These include school education summer camps, high school and college prep, academic tutoring, educational advocacy, mentoring, alternative-to-detention counseling and advocacy, housing counseling for families facing hardship, and even a senior citizens’ network.
