Amber Schools Foundation, Inc. supports the on-going needs and enrichment opportunities offered to all students attending Amber Charter Schools. Amber East Harlem is New York State’s first Latino-led public charter school, in operation since 2000 and a second campus, Amber Kingsbridge opened in 2016. Started by the Community Association of Progressive Dominicans (ACDP), Amber is focused on serving the community and preparing students for a global economy by teaching Spanish to all. Amber’s students continue to outperform their peers city and state-wide in both math and reading. For the last three years, 100 percent of Amber’s fourth grade class scored proficient on the New York State Science Test. Robust wrap-around services such as after-school programs and counseling are a hallmark of Amber’s offerings as well as a well-rounded education by teaching core subjects and art, music, technology, health and wellness.
