Born out of tragedy after a fire killed two children of migrant workers, the heart broken community came together and donated a farmhouse on six acres to create a safe place for children. The Center was incorporated as a Not for Profit in 1954 and continues to be a lifeline for working parents.
The Bridgehampton Child Care & Recreational Center is a community-based institution for ALL underserved children and families from Islip to Montauk. The Center has been educating, empowering, and encouraging self-sufficiency for over 70 years.
