Rudy Sarzo is a professional artist with a career spanning over 35 years, and recordings which have sold over 30 million copies. He has recorded and/or toured with Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot, Whitesnake, DIO, Queensryche, Blue Oyster Cult and more.
As a member of Ozzy Osbourne’s band Rudy toured the world in support of the “Blizzard of Ozz” and “Diary Of a Madman” records. His bass playing can be heard on Ozzy’s multimillion selling “Tribute” and “Speak of the Devil.” As a member of Quiet Riot, Rudy recorded the multi-platinum albums “Metal Health,” the first Heavy Metal debut to reach #1 on the Billboard charts and “Condition Critical.” During this period he headlined worldwide tours, appeared on numerous MTV videos and was voted #1 Bassist in Circus Magazine. As a member of Whitesnake, Rudy recorded the multi-platinum album “Slip of the Tongue.” During this period he also performed worldwide on headline tours in support of the multiplatinum “1987” and “Slip of the Tongue” albums and appeared in 6 MTV videos. As a member of the reunited Quiet Riot Rudy performed worldwide on headlining tours and as special guests in support of the Quiet Riot CDs “Alive and Well” and "Guilty Pleasure.”
He also appeared on VH1’s Quiet Riot, Behind the Music. In 2004 Rudy became member of the multi-platinum Heavy Metal group DIO and remained the band's bassist until Ronnie's passing in 2010. During that time Rudy toured the world with DIO and recorded the "Holy Diver 25th Anniversary LIVE" DVD and CD and DIO's last studio track "Elektra".
The Schecter Omen-4 is a 4 string electric bass guitar which has a contoured basswood body finished in Gloss Black finish. The body at the neck joint has Schecter's "Ultra Access" deep cutaway for easy access to the highest notes on the neck. The bass hardware is black chrome with deluxe Schecter heavy duty die-cast tuning machines. The Diamond Bass bridge is fully adjustable and is solid as a rock.
The sturdy maple bolt-on neck construction promotes great vibration transfer from the neck through the body, resulting in high note definition and great sustain of the notes. The neck also has a two-way adjustable truss rod to keep the string height on your bass right where you want it. The scale of the neck is 34" with 24 extra jumbo frets on a high quality solid 16" radius rosewood fingerboard. The fingerboard inlay work is pearloid "Semi-Goth." The neck has a modern "Thin C" profile which feels comfortable and fast. The Graph Tech XL Black Tusq nut width is 1 1/2" (38mm). The neck and bridge pickups are both Schecter Diamond Bass, which feature a dual-coil design for low noise and plenty of output. Tone controls include one Volume, one Blend and a 2-Band active equalizer section. Includes padded Schecter Diamond Bass Gig Bag.
