Matt Bomer is one of Hollywood’s most exciting actors working today. His first lead role on the ABC series Traveler, produced by Academy Award winners Bruce Cohen and Dan Jinks. He had recurring roles on the Fox series Tru Calling and on the NBC series Chuck before landing the role of ‘Neal Caffrey’ on USA Network’s White Collar. The show, which was one of the highest rated and most critically acclaimed scripted shows on cable television aired for six seasons.
He has also guest starred on the hit Fox series Glee and on the NBC series The New Normal. In 2014, Matt starred alongside Mark Ruffalo, Julia Roberts, and Jim Parsons in the critically acclaimed screen adaptation of The Normal Heart for director Ryan Murphy. For the film, which is based on the Tony Award-winning stage drama of the same name, Matt won a Golden Globe Award and a Critics’ Choice Award, and he received an Emmy® Award nomination. Matt’s additional television credits include the critically acclaimed FX series American Horror Story: Hotel, in which he starred alongside Kathy Bates and Lady Gaga, and Amazon’s The Last Tycoon, alongside Lily Collins, Rosemarie DeWitt, and Kelsey Grammar for director Billy Ray.
In 2020, Matt starred as the lead in season 3 of USA Network’s thriller drama series The Sinner opposite Bull Pullman and executive produced by Jessica Biel, was seen in two episodes of the final season of NBC’s hit sitcom Will & Grace. In 2021, Matt was seen in American Horror Stories the spinoff anthology series to the American Horror Story franchise. In 2022, Matt was seen in Netflix psychological thriller limited series Echoes with Michelle Monaghan. In 2023, Matt finished his four-season run starring as ‘Larry Trainor’ / ‘Negative Man’ in Max’s Doom Patrol.
Matt was most recently seen starring in and executive producing Showtime’s adaptation of Thomas Mallon’s novel Fellow Travelers alongside Jonathan Bailey. The limited series chronicled the clandestine romance of two very different men who meet in McCarthy-era Washington. For his role of ‘Hawkins ‘Hawk’ Fuller,’ Matt received various nominations from the Golden Globe Awards, Critics’ Choice Awards, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
In 2018, Matt made his directorial debut with a critically acclaimed episode of The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. In addition to Matt’s success on the small screen, audiences have seen him star in a variety of feature film roles. Matt’s feature film credits include a starring role in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Flight Plan with Jodie Foster, Andrew Niccol’s In Time alongside Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried and the sci-fi dramedy Space Station 76 with Liv Tyler and Patrick Wilson. In 2015, Matt reteamed with Channing Tatum in Magic Mike XXL, the sequel to the 2012 blockbuster film Magic Mike in which he starred with Tatum and Matthew McConaughey for director Steven Soderbergh.
Most recently, Matt was seen in Maestro alongside Carey Mulligan for director & star Bradley Cooper, and producers Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg. The film, which premiered at the 2023 Venice Film Festival, was nominated for Best Picture at the 96th Annual Academy Awards.
Upcoming, Matt will be seen in the dark comedy Outcome for Apple alongside Jonah Hill, Keanu Reeves and Cameron Diaz. Hill is also set to co-write and direct. In the summer of 2018, Matt appeared on stage in the Broadway revival of The Boys in The Band. The show opened at the Booth Theatre to sold out audiences and critical acclaim, which included winning the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play. Matt reprised his role as Donald, along with the rest of the Broadway cast, in the 2020 Netflix film adaptation. Matt’s other stage credits include the Broadway and Los Angeles readings of Dustin Lance Black’s play 8 where he was joined by such acting luminaries as Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, George Clooney, John C. Reilly and Ellen Barkin.
