Bid now on this rare pairing of 2 signed limited-edition fine art prints by Shepard Fairey, one of the most culturally significant street artists working today, each carrying a distinct message that together form a powerful statement: create instead of destroy, protect instead of destroy.
The larger of the 2 works, "Make Art Not War", is a 36 x 24" limited edition print (edition of 500), signed by Fairey in the lower right. Rooted in his anti-war work during the Iraq War era, the piece reimagines the iconic 1960s slogan "Make Love Not War" as a call for creativity over conflict. The central figure, a woman enveloped in flowers, draws on Art Nouveau and psychedelic protest poster traditions, while 2 paintbrushes beneath her evoke the visual tension of weapons repurposed as tools of expression.
The second work, "Earth Crisis", is a 13 x 10" signed Artist Proof, also signed lower right, printed on natural fibre parchment. The imagery originated from Fairey's monumental 2015 installation for the COP21 climate conference in Paris, where an 8-meter-wide, 2.3-tonne globe covered in his designs was suspended more than 60 meters above the ground inside the Eiffel Tower. The floral mandala patterns, rendered in blues and greens, evoke harmony with nature and serve as a visual call to protect the planet for future generations.
Shepard Fairey is a pioneering American street artist, graphic designer, and activist best known for his "Obey Giant" campaign and the iconic 2008 Barack Obama "Hope" poster. A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, Fairey has built a career at the intersection of art, activism, and cultural commentary, with work that has reached from city streets to global institutions.
Both prints are signed and accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, a compelling acquisition for collectors drawn to art with genuine cultural weight.
