Description of piece:
This evocative painting pays tribute to both the mechanical power of Ferrari and the daring skill of Lorenzo Bandini, one of Italy’s most iconic Formula One drivers. Set on the Monaco Grand Prix circuit, the scene captures Bandini as he descends toward the famed hairpin turn, moments after passing the Hotel de Paris (deliberately left out to focus the viewer’s attention). The composition exudes speed and control. The sleek Ferrari 312 hugs the curve of the track with precision, its bold red form charging forward. The open-wheel design, exposed V12 engine, and golden rims evoke a golden era of racing, where man and machine danced on the edge of danger. Yet beyond the technical accuracy lies an artistic flourish: within the lush, blurred background, one can discern the faint silhouettes of prancing horses, subtly integrated into the foliage. These spectral forms serve as a symbolic echo of the Ferrari legacy, running parallel to Bandini’s drive, expressions of spirit, speed, and history. The absence of crowd barriers, or urban landmarks, transforms this moment into something timeless. The viewer is drawn into an almost spiritual encounter with movement, mastery and history. The print is printed on fine art giclee paper, black wood frame, custom matting, plexiglass, ready to hang. It will be professionally packaged and shipped in a secure box. It comes with an authorized Certificate of Authenticity, embossed with the artist’s seal, with the image, size and title inscribed. .
Artist bio:
Patrick Faure, born in Monaco, is an acclaimed painter known for his realistic depictions of Native Americans and Formula 1 racing, as well as for developing the philosophical art style known as Faurism. Often mistaken for surrealism, Faure’s work explores the tension between human consciousness, desire, and existential struggle—blending symbolism, mythology, and social critique. His paintings challenge viewers with themes of war, power, and the human condition, drawing inspiration from thinkers like Plato, Camus, Sartre, and Kafka. Faure believes that in the face of destruction and greed, art and knowledge are humanity’s last hopes. He has exhibited widely, including at UNESCO and the United Nations, authored four books, and currently lives in London with his partner. .
