Collect this pair of Pete Rose signed and inscribed "I'm Sorry I Bet on Baseball" Rawlings baseball bat and ball!
The first of the pair is a Rawlings "Pro" model bat in gleaming black, with “I’m sorry I bet on baseball” burned into the barrel, and burnished with silver paint. This rare edition baseball bat is imprinted, also in silver, with Rawlings logo brandings.
Pete Rose has signed in a full name signature on the barrel, in silver paint pen, adding the inscription '4256', signifying his career hit total.
The second in the pair is a pristine white Rawlings ball, on which Pete Rose has inscribed “I’M SORRY I BET ON BASEBALL”, in clear bold, caps. He has signed the ball beneath his inscription, all in bold blue pen.
The signatures on both items have been authenticated: The bat bears a unique alphanumeric James Spence Authentication (JSA) Witnessed Protection Program authenticating label, which corresponds to the JSA Witnessed Protection Program COA accompanying the item. The ball bears a Beckett alphanumeric authenticating label and comes with its matching COA. Additionally, the ball has a Pete Rose Fiterman Sports holographic authenticating label.
PETE ROSE, also known by his nickname "Charlie Hustle”, played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1963 to 1986, most prominently as a member of the Cincinnati Reds team known as The Big Red Machine for their dominance of the National League in the 1970s. He also played for the Philadelphia Phillies and the Montreal Expos. After his playing career, he served as the manager of the Reds from 1984 to 1989.
Rose Rose was a switch hitter and is the all-time MLB leader in hits (4,256), games played (3,562), at-bats (14,053), singles (3,215), and outs (10,328). He won three World Series, three batting titles, one Most Valuable Player Award, two Gold Gloves, and the Rookie of the Year Award. Rose made 17 All-Star appearances at an unequaled five positions (second baseman, left fielder, right fielder, third baseman, and first baseman). Rose won both of his Gold Gloves when he was an outfielder, in 1969 and 1970.
