Have a Nature Preserve in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains named after you and enjoy a 1-week RV getaway in Alaska during Summer 2017 or 2018. As the winner of this auction, you will have the unique opportunity to name this peaceful, restorative preserve after yourself or someone you would like to honor. The name you choose will be displayed prominently at the entrance to the preserve and on a footbridge crossing the pond.
Safe Port Initiative is in the process of developing a one-of-a-kind residential recovery campus for survivors of human trafficking, which spans the New York/Pennsylvania border from the Allegheny Mountains to the foothills of the Appalachians, including a wooded nature preserve with walking trails, a reflection pond, and a bird sanctuary.
In keeping with our nature preserve theme, you will also receive an extraordinary, once-in-a-lifetime trip for up to 4 people to the site of the most amazing nature preserves in North America: ALASKA! While in Alaska, you will have unlimited freedom to explore any destination you desire for 7 days, 6 nights in your own deluxe 26.5’ Minnie Winnie Winnebego RV, which includes unlimited miles, a generator for off-grid excursions, AC, cookware, dinnerware, linens, a bathroom with enclosed shower, a full kitchenette, ample storage, a private bedroom in the rear with a 54”-wide bed, a second bed (57” wide) over the driver’s cabin, a sofa that converts into a third bed (40” wide), and a separate dinette that converts into a fourth bed (42” wide). Liability insurance and a brief RV orientation session are also included.
How do you get to Alaska? Safe Port Initiative will fly you to Anchorage International Airport from any major airport in the lower 48 states! Complimentary roundtrip airfare, including taxes, will be provided in business class for 2 people, or in economy class for 4 people. Free pick-up service will also be provided to transport you from the airport to the site of the RV rental company.
While spontaneity en route to your nightly destinations is encouraged and applauded, we do recommend selecting those destinations in advance for two important reasons: (1) RV campsites in Alaska’s national parks and preserves fill up quickly during the summer, and (2) Safe Port Initiative will pay campsite and hook-up fees and taxes for all destinations that they are able to book in advance for you. A representative of Safe Port Initiative will be happy to assist in selecting and coordinating destinations. That said, should you succumb to the rogue Alaskan spirit while on your vacation, you can take comfort in knowing that your RV includes an unlimited-use generator to keep the lights on, the stovetop cooking, and the you-know-what flushing.
