"I have spent over 25 plus years in the technology industry (read getting old here!! LOL) and am currently the CEO of Catalogic Software, Inc http://www.catalogicsoftware.com (data protection/virtual data) and the Chairman of Symphonic Source http://www.symphonicsource.com (data quality). Prior to this I was the Founder/CEO of TekTools, Inc, from 1997 until 2010 where we developed and brought to market and successfully exited with two products--the KAWA and Profiler products. KAWA, a Java Integrated Development Environment, garnered more than 50,000 users worldwide and was acquired by the Allaire Corp. (NASDAQ: ALLR) in November of 2000. Profiler, an IT Infrastructure Monitoring and Reporting Suite, grew to over 1,000 customers prior to its acquisition by Solarwinds in January 2010. From December 1993 until October of 1997 I helped to found and build Micromuse, Inc and our flagship product Netcool from a U.S. startup to a publicly traded company (NASDAQ: MUSE) in the network management arena.
I have a ton of interests outside of the office, particularly in public education and journalism. I try to stay active as a volunteer in the Dallas Independent School District working on initiatives at the State and local level to help our kids in public education with groups like Leadership DISD http://www.leadershipdisd.org/ , Dallas Kid’s First http://www.dallaskidsfirst.org/ , and CityYear Dallas (board member) https://www.cityyear.org/dallas
I addition I also am honored to serve as on on the board of the Dallas Arboretum and Chair the Ground Floor Committee for our wonderful team at the United Way of Dallas. Love animals and when I am not doing any of the above I serve as the ranch hand for my lovely wife Carolyn at the farm--probably the hardest and most humbling job that I have!" - Ken Barth
