Artist bio:
Walter Girotto is an Italian Postwar & Contemporary painter who was born in 1953 in Rovigo, Italy. Girotto began drawing at an early age. His first experience with art, he said, occurred at age 3 when he drew a picture of a whale at a nursery he attended. The teacher, so impressed with the picture, paraded it before Girotto's classmates. At a young age he gave up his studies in nuclear physics to focus on art and explore his interest in religion, metaphysics and philosophy subjects he incorporates into his artwork. Using bright colors, angelic figures and dark, dramatic and spiritual imagery, Girotti blends contemporary and classical styles to convey his philosophical musings. Overall, he is well known for his Figurative style, although landscapes are also his specialty. In 1985, Girotto took part in his first Art-Expo in New York. It was a success, selling all his paintings within the first twenty minutes of the event. The art work complete by Girotto has been sold to collectors around the world. To attest to the quality of his work, the pricing of his pieces has increased over time..
