Bid now for the chance to experience a 6 night gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari for two people in Uganda with Volcanoes Safaris!
This trip includes:
During this trip, you will trek the majestic mountain gorillas of Uganda, hike to the ‘Lost Chimps of Kyambura Gorge’, participate in the Kyambura Eco-tourism Project, and experience the ancient Batwa culture at Gahinga.
Kyambura Gorge Lodge overlooks the savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park with the magnificent Rwenzori Mountains in the distance. The guest chalets have an afro-chic theme with the accent on local artefacts re-imagined in a new context. Enjoy game drives in Queen Elizabeth National Park looking for lions, leopard, elephants, buffaloes and large herds of Uganda kob, look for the lost chimps of Kyambura in the gorge, and enjoy wildlife boat cruises on the Kazinga Channel.
Mount Gahinga Lodge is located at the foot of the Virunga Volcanoes and on the edge of Mgahinga National Park. The charming property, inspired by traditional design and building techniques, has been recently re-modelled and the beautiful hand-built rooms reflect the aesthetic traditions of the Bufimbira people. From here, you’ll trek to find the iconic mountain gorilla on the forested slopes of the park, visit the Gahinga Batwa Village and experience the culture and history of one of Africa’s oldest tribes, and search for rare golden monkeys.
Proceeds will go to Empowers Africa to support the Volcanoes Safaris Partnership Trust (VSPT), a non-profit organisation that connects Volcanoes Safaris lodges to neighbouring communities and conservation activities. VSPT aims to create long-term, sustainable projects that enrich the livelihoods of local communities and promote the conservation of the great apes.
