This is an in-person or virtual opportunity in which you can share your project in development and Mr. Mills will give real and helpful feedback. Then, after the feedback is practiced, you can return for a second meeting to present the polished pitch.
Matthew C. Mills is an Emmy and four-time Webby Award-winning Director, Writer and Executive Producer based in Brooklyn, New York. He founded Spacestation in 2007 after many years at MTV, VH1, and CSTV as a production and development executive. Matthew’s diverse range of credits have found him working in features, commercials, music, television and Internet series. Some highlights include Well Groomed (HBO), Life Below Water, featuring Morgan Freeman (United Nations, Google), For Flint (Tribeca Film Festival; The Atlantic) MTV Unplugged, and We Always Lie To Strangers (SXSW 2013; Netflix). His latest feature documentary, Chasing Chasing Amy, came out in theaters on November 1, 2024.
Spacestation produces more than four thousand hours of live-streamed content annually with clients like Obé Fitness, Wired Magazine, The New Yorker, and more. Matthew has been front and center on the launch team for four different networks and had a hand in creating dozens of shows for Viacom, HBO Sports, Turner Broadcasting, and other clients. Over the years, he has taught workshops, led panels or had mentor meetings at many film festivals including SXSW, Hot Docs, and True-False.
Matthew attended the University of Missouri and is also a Forward/Story Fellow, the experimental storytelling lab sponsored by Columbia University School of Professional Studies. In addition to filmmaking, Matthew has also been a producer on records by Katy Perry, All Time Low, and Dan Deacon.
