Meet Raven Symoné After Her Performance in Sister Act on Broadway in NYC

View original image

You and a friend get to see Broadway’s newest smash hit, Sister Act, in NYC and meet the new star, Raven-Symoné, after the show!

Based on the 1992 film of the same name, Sister Act tells the story of aspiring disco diva Deloris Van Cartier. Trying to work her way to the top in 1970s Philadelphia, Deloris falls in love with a very tough—and very married—gangster boyfriend named Curtis, and when Deloris witnesses him commit a murder she ends up in hiding on police orders in a convent whose parish has fallen on hard times. Though the sequin-free lifestyle doesn’t agree with her, Deloris finds her calling working with the choir, and breathes new life into the dusty convent while discovering a sisterhood she’s never had before. From its brightly colored costumes to its hummable tunes and wholesome message, Sister Act is a family friendly musical all the way.

This, Raven-Symoné begins performances as Deloris Van Cartier in the Broadway production of Sister Act! Raven-Symoné became a child star on The Cosby Show, followed by a role on the hit sitcom Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper. She went on to headline her own Disney channel show, That’s So Raven, along with Disney Channel TV movies The Cheetah Girls and The Cheetah Girls 2 and ABC Family series State of Georgia. Her film roles include Dr. Dolittle and Dr. Dolittle 2.
