Wilson Tang, owner of Nom Wah Tea Parlor, will host you and a guest on a food tour of Chinatown, NYC!
Begin your Taste of Chinatown, NYC with a dim sum lunch hosted by Wilson Tang, owner of Nom Wah Tea Parlor - the first dim sum restaurant in New York City's Chinatown since 1920. Nom Wah is located on Doyers Street which has been famously nicknamed “the Bloody Angle,” since it was the site of numerous shootings in a turf war between Chinatown gangs many years ago. Time has passed but Nom Wah still maintains its vintage looks, good food and great value which keeps generations of families coming back. Numerous movies and TV shows have been shot at Nom Wah including The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Reversal of Fortune, Premium Rush, All Good Things, and Law and Order episodes.
After lunch, Wilson will continue the food tour of Chinatown with some “off the beaten path” spots.
Wilson grew up in Chinatown and comes from a family of entrepreneurs. Before taking over Nom Wah, he owned a bakery on Allen Street called Mr Tall Coffee & Bakery. In addition to the original restaurant on Doyers Street, he has opened Nom Wah Philadelphia, Nom Wah Tu, Nom Wah Kaui and Nom Wah Nolita over the past 5 years.
Enjoy some delicious food while hanging out with an unofficial “mayor” of Chinatown.
