Lizzie Fox is Senior Vice President of Non-Fiction Programming for HBO Max, responsible for documentary features, docuseries and specials. Working with prestige creators and brands as well as with new voices, Fox’s unique slate is geared toward female-skewing, Gen Z and millennial audiences and covers a wide array of topics that are both entertaining and socially relevant. Fox’s documentary slate includes Class Action Park, a #1 film on HBO Max about New Jersey’s infamous water park, and On the Record, a feature addressing the #MeToo movement through the lens of the hip-hop industry, which debuted with critical acclaim and a 99% on Rotten Tomatoes. Within docuseries, programs include Expecting Amy, an unfiltered look at Amy Schumer’s difficult pregnancy while navigating a new marriage and comedy tour; Heaven’s Gate with CNN Original Studios about the infamous cult; and Generation Hustle, about the lengths young people will go to for fame, fortune and power from award-winning filmmaker Alex Gibney.
Some of her most recognizable tiles from the past 2 years include The Way Down, What Happened Brittany Murphy?, Wahl Street, Take Out with Lisa Ling and Beanie Mania. Fox also oversees HBO Max’s nostalgic event specials such as the top-performing Fresh Prince reunion special, The West Wing special to benefit Michelle Obama’s “When We All Vote,” the Friends reunion, and the Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.
Before HBO Max, Fox was VP, CNN Original Series and managed the production of more than 40 original non-fiction series including the Peabody and Emmy Award®-winning Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown, and the Emmy Award®-winning United Shades of America with W. Kamau Bell.
