Ikoma:

Ikoma is situated in Tanzania, east of the Serengeti National Park, at the base of the majestic Mt. Meru, Ikoma is surrounded by stunning natural beauty. Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater are both within easy driving distance, making Ikoma the perfect base for exploring the region. In addition to its natural wonders, Ikoma is also home to a number of great activities, including hiking, biking and bird watching. With so much to see and do, it's no wonder Ikoma is one of Tanzania's most popular tourist destinations. Other Highlights in the surrounding area include Lake Ndutu, and the Olduvai Gorge. Ikoma is also home to a number of Masai villages, where visitors can learn about the traditional culture and way of life. With its unique location and range of activities on offer, Ikoma is an ideal destination for those looking to explore the natural beauty and culture of Tanzania.

Serengeti National Park:
The Serengeti, together with Kenya’s Masai Mara Game Park, constitute Africa's most famous wildlife park, spread over the enthralling landscapes of northern Tanzania. This is a precious ecosystem, supporting the annual wildebeest migration through the Serengeti and the Masai Mara. The largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet involves more than a million animals following the rains, including more than 1.5 million white-bearded wildebeest and 250 000 zebras. Prides of lions, as well as groups of elephants, giraffes, gazelles, and eland, roam among the photogenic vast grass plains between weird-and-wonderful-looking acacia trees. Aside from traditional vehicle safaris, hot-air ballooning over the Serengeti plains and horse riding safaris are on offer.

Day Itinerary: Today, your safari adventure truly begins by flying from Arusha to the heart of the Serengeti and your first game drive.
Early Morning Transfer to Arusha Airport (ARK): You will wake up early for your transfer from the Four Points by Sheraton Arusha to Arusha Airport. The airport is the main hub for scheduled flights to the various national parks in northern Tanzania. The drive is short, and the airport is small and easy to navigate.

Flight to Seronera Airstrip (SEU): From Arusha Airport, you'll board a light aircraft for a scenic flight into the Serengeti. The flight to Seronera Airstrip takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours. As you fly, you'll get a spectacular aerial view of the Tanzanian landscape, transitioning from populated areas to the vast, open plains of the Serengeti.
Upon landing at Seronera Airstrip, Your Guide will meet you with a safari vehicle. This is where your first game drive begins! The Seronera Valley, located in the heart of the Serengeti, is renowned for its year-round wildlife. The Seronera River provides a permanent water source, which attracts a high concentration of animals, especially during the dry season.

The area is particularly famous for its population of big cats:

  • Lions: The Serengeti has one of the largest lion populations in Africa, and the open plains of Seronera make it one of the best places to spot them.
  • Leopards: These elusive predators often rest in the acacia trees along the riverbanks. Your guide will be on the lookout for their telltale spotted coat hanging from a branch.
  • Cheetahs: The central plains are an ideal hunting ground for cheetahs, who use their incredible speed to chase down prey.

During your game drive, you can also expect to see a wide variety of other wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, buffalo, hyenas, and a multitude of antelopes like impala and topi. Your experienced safari guide will be an invaluable resource, providing information on the animals' behavior and the ecosystem.

Transfer to Four Seasons Serengeti: In the late afternoon, your guide will drive you to the Four Seasons Serengeti Safari Lodge, which is conveniently located near the Seronera Airstrip. The lodge is perched on elevated platforms with a view of a nearby watering hole, which is a popular spot for wildlife.

All-Inclusive Stay at Four Seasons Serengeti: Your overnight stay at the Four Seasons Serengeti is on an "all-inclusive" basis. This typically means the following is covered:

  • Accommodation: Your room or suite for the night.
  • Meals: All meals—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—are included. The lodge is known for its excellent dining experiences, often featuring multiple restaurants with different menus.

Basis:

  • All Inclusive - Bed and All Meals
  • All Drinks (excl Premium Brands) Included

Day 3: Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti, Ikoma:

Central Serengeti:
Situated in the heart of Tanzania, the Central Serengeti encompasses the world-famous Seronera Valley which is known for its prime wildlife-viewing opportunities. This picture-perfect landscape is characterised by endless stretches of savannah-covered open plains interspersed by rocky outcrops of granite and scattered with acacia woodlands and covered in a network of rivers and streams. The Central Serengeti forms part of the great wildebeest and zebra migration and provides an ideal habitat for a variety of wildlife such as giraffe, impala, waterbuck, hippo, elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, hyena, jackal, serval and much more. Popular activities include: game viewing, cultural tours, horse riding safaris, and hot air ballooning over the spectacularly scenic terrain.

Day Itinerary: Today will be an unforgettable day, starting with a unique aerial perspective of the Serengeti and continuing with a deep dive into some of its most exclusive and wildlife-rich areas.

Hot Air Balloon Safari

  • Your day will begin before dawn with a very early wake-up call. You will be transferred from your lodge to the hot air balloon launch site. The experience includes:
  • Pre-flight Briefing: You'll receive a safety briefing from the pilot while the balloon is being inflated, a fascinating process in itself.
  • Sunrise Flight: As the sun rises over the horizon, you'll lift off and float silently above the plains. The flight lasts for approximately one hour. From the air, you will gain a stunning perspective of the Serengeti's vastness and may spot wildlife from a unique vantage point. It's a truly serene and magical experience.
  • Champagne Bush Breakfast: Upon landing, a special celebration awaits. The crew will have set up a magnificent "bush breakfast" in the middle of the Serengeti. This usually includes a full English breakfast with sparkling wine or champagne to celebrate your successful flight. This unique dining experience is a highlight for many safari-goers.

Game Drive in Central and Eastern Serengeti: After your champagne breakfast, your guide will meet you to continue your game drive for the rest of the day. You will explore two distinct areas: the Central Serengeti (Seronera) and the more remote Eastern Serengeti (Namiri Plains and Gol Area).

  • Central Serengeti (Seronera): This area is known for its permanent water sources and high concentration of resident wildlife, especially big cats. You'll continue to look for lions, leopards, and cheetahs, along with vast herds of elephants, giraffes, and various antelope. The area's distinctive "kopjes" (rocky outcrops) are a favorite resting spot for lions and cheetahs.
  • Eastern Serengeti (Namiri Plains and Gol Area): This is where you'll get a more exclusive and private safari experience. The eastern plains were previously closed to tourism for over two decades to help the cheetah population recover, and as a result, the area is now considered the "cheetah capital of Africa."
    • Cheetahs: The wide, open grasslands of Namiri and Gol are the perfect habitat for cheetahs, who hunt by speed. Your chances of witnessing a high-speed chase here are excellent. The terrain provides a clear line of sight, making it easier to spot these sleek predators.
    • Lions: The area also supports a large lion population, and you will often find them preying on the abundant plains game like gazelles, wildebeest, and zebra.
    • General Wildlife: You will also encounter a variety of other wildlife, including hyenas, jackals, and plains game. The landscape is different from the central Serengeti, offering a sense of untouched wilderness.

Evening Return to Four Seasons Serengeti: After a full day of thrilling game drives, you will return to the luxury of the Four Seasons Serengeti Safari Lodge in the evening. You can unwind and enjoy the lodge's amenities, perhaps with a relaxing massage at the spa or a drink by the infinity pool overlooking the savanna, before an exquisite dinner. Your guide will update you on the plan for the next day's adventures.

Basis:

  • All Inclusive - Bed and All Meals
  • All Drinks (excl Premium Brands) Included

Don’t miss the opportunity to jump on an excursion to the magnificent Olduvai Gorge.

Day Itinerary: Today, your journey takes you from the high-altitude lodge on the crater rim to the crater floor itself for an unforgettable game drive, before continuing to the "coffee country" of Karatu.

Morning Game Drive in Ngorongoro Crater: Your day will start with an early breakfast and check-out from your lodge. To make the most of your time and increase your chances of spotting the more elusive animals, your guide will take you on an early morning descent into the Ngorongoro Crater. This is the best time for game viewing as the animals are most active during the cooler hours of the day.

The Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a natural wonder. The crater floor, which is a massive, unbroken caldera, is a self-contained ecosystem teeming with wildlife. During your game drive, you can expect to see a high concentration of animals, including:

  • The "Big Five": The crater is one of the few places where you have a high chance of spotting the "Big Five" in a single day. A key highlight is the endangered black rhino, as the crater has a small resident population. You will also look for lions, leopards, elephants, and buffalo.
  • Plains Animals: The crater floor is home to vast herds of wildebeest, zebra, and various antelopes.
  • Other Wildlife: You will likely see hippos in the large pools, as well as a variety of birdlife, including large flocks of flamingos at Lake Magadi (depending on the time of year).

Afternoon Drive to Karatu: After your game drive and a picnic lunch on the crater floor, you will begin your ascent out of the crater. The drive from the crater rim to the town of Karatu is relatively short, taking approximately 45 minutes to an hour.

Dinner and Overnight Stay: You will arrive at your lodge in Karatu in the late afternoon, with plenty of time to freshen up before dinner. The lodges in this area, like the Manyara Kilimamoja Hotel, offer a luxurious and comfortable stay. Your dinner will be included as part of your all-inclusive basis, allowing you to enjoy a well-deserved meal after an exciting day of safari.

Basis:

  • All Inclusive - Bed and All Meals
  • All Drinks (excl Premium Brands) Included

Day 6: Lake Manyara Kilimamoja Lodge, Ngorongoro Crater:

Day Itinerary: Based on your request, today will be a full-day cultural immersion and a stark contrast to the wildlife safaris you've experienced so far.

Early Morning Departure and Drive to Lake Eyasi: Your day will begin very early, likely before sunrise, with a packed breakfast. You will check out from your lodge and embark on a scenic drive to the Lake Eyasi region. The drive from Karatu to the Lake Eyasi area takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on road conditions. The landscape will become noticeably drier as you approach the saline lake.

Cultural Visit with the Hadzabe Tribe: Upon arrival, you will be introduced to your local guide and the Hadzabe people, one of the last true hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa. The Hadzabe live in small, temporary camps and have a unique way of life that has remained unchanged for thousands of years. Your visit is a rare and authentic opportunity to learn about their culture and traditions firsthand.

Your activities will be a hands-on experience, following the daily rhythm of the tribe:

  • Hunting: You will join the men of the tribe as they set off on their morning hunt. You will witness their incredible tracking skills and the use of their traditional bows and poison-tipped arrows. While the outcome of the hunt is never guaranteed, the experience of walking alongside them and observing their hunting methods is unforgettable.
  • Fruit and Root Gathering: While the men hunt, the women of the tribe often forage for wild fruits, roots, and tubers. You can learn from them about the edible plants of the area and participate in the gathering process.
  • Honey Collection: The Hadzabe are masters of finding and collecting wild honey. If the opportunity arises, you will see how they expertly smoke out bees and climb trees to retrieve honey, a vital part of their diet.
  • Cultural Exchange: Throughout your visit, you will have a chance to interact with the tribe, learning about their click-based language and their unique customs. You may also get to witness or participate in a traditional fire-starting demonstration and their dances.

Visit to the Datoga Tribe: Often, a visit to the Hadzabe is combined with a short stop to a neighboring tribe, the Datoga. The Datoga are pastoralists and skilled blacksmiths, known for creating weapons, knives, and jewelry from scrap metal. This provides an interesting contrast between a hunter-gatherer and a pastoralist culture.

Return to the Lodge: In the late afternoon, you will say your goodbyes and begin your drive back to your lodge in Karatu. You can use the drive to reflect on the unique experience. You will arrive back at your lodge in time to relax, enjoy dinner, and share stories of your incredible day.

We and the Seller are not responsible for errors and omissions on Charitybuzz.com, glossary, or any supplemental material. Charitybuzz will not be responsible or liable for damage to frames and glass coverings, regardless of the cause. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.

5. Bidding
5. Bidding

A. Entering Bids

To bid, find a lot page, enter a value in the bid box, and click “Bid.” If you click “Bid” on a lot, you will be prompted to either log in to your Charitybuzz account, or create a new one if you do not have one already.

Once you’ve created an account you will be presented with the lot details, conditions of sale, and standard shipping and redemption details. Once you have accepted the Conditions of Sale, you may proceed with placing a bid on that lot. All bids placed for any lot are governed by the Conditions of Sale for that lot.

You may bid at or above the starting bid displayed as the “Current Price” in a lot page’s bid box. The current leading bid, along with a list of a lot’s full bidding history, will be visible to other users. If the status of your bid changes, you will receive notifications via email and push (if you have the Charitybuzz App installed).

B. Cancellation Rights

As soon you place and confirm your bid amount, your bid is submitted. You accept and agree that bids submitted by you are final. Charitybuzz is not responsible or liable for any problems, delays, or other issues resulting from the use of the Internet, including but not limited to transmission, execution, or processing of Bids.

Charitybuzz nor the Seller is responsible for any errors in bidding. A bidder should make certain to bid on the correct lot. The Bidder should make sure the bid price they enter (including any taxes or fees) is the price they are willing and able to pay. Once the hammer has fallen and Charitybuzz has announced the winning Bidder, that Bidder is unconditionally bound to pay for that lot, even if the Bidder has made an error.

A bid(s) entered by mistake on the part of a bidder is NOT grounds for cancellation of that bid. Each bidder is responsible for his or her own account and bids. In addition, allowing access to another who enters a bid without your knowledge is NOT grounds for cancellation of a bid.

C. Fraudulent Bidding

All Bidders must meet Charitybuzz’s qualifications to bid. Any Bidder who is not a client in good standing of Charitybuzz may be disqualified at Charitybuzz’s sole discretion and will not be awarded lots. Such determination may be made by Charitybuzz in its sole discretion, at any time prior to, during, or even after the close of the Auction. Charitybuzz reserves the right to exclude any person from the auction.

Bids will not be accepted from minor persons under eighteen (18) years of age without a parent’s written consent containing an acknowledgement of the conditions herein and indicating their agreement to be bound thereby on behalf of the bidder.

If an entity places a bid, then the person executing the bid on behalf of the entity agrees to personally guarantee payment for any successful bid.

Any bidder that represents a purchaser is personally and individually responsible for any obligations of the purchaser set forth in these terms and conditions. All purchasers purchasing pursuant to a valid resale license will need to provide appropriate documentation for removal of state sales tax.

D. Winning & Disputes

The successful bidder is the highest bidder acknowledged by Charitybuzz. In the event of any dispute between bidders, or in the event of doubt on Charitybuzz’s part as to the validity of any bid, Charitybuzz will have final discretion either to determine the successful bidder or to re-offer and resell the lot in question. If any dispute arises after the sale, Charitybuzz’s sale record is conclusive. While Charitybuzz makes every effort to guarantee accuracy, in the event of an error, and a lot is accidentally declared sold by mistake, Charitybuzz reserves the right to cancel the sale and relist the lot in its sole discretion.

By accepting the Conditions of Sale, Bidder personally and unconditionally guarantees payment.

Title to any lot remains with the Seller, any secured party of the Seller, or assignee of Seller, as the case may be, until the lot is paid for in full by the Bidder. Charitybuzz reserves the right to require payment in full before delivering any lot to the successful bidder.

6. Max Bidding
6. Max Bidding

A maximum bid is a secret amount you enter, that represents the maximum amount you are willing to bid. It is higher than the current price and also higher than the next allowable minimum bid amount. If you enter a maximum bid, we’ll bid on your behalf up to that maximum bid amount in response to other bids, according to Charitybuzz’s bidding tiers.

The value and status of your maximum bid will be visible only to you, unless it is the leading bid.

Charitybuzz strongly encourages the use of Max Bids to increase your chances of winning.

7. Extended Bidding
7. Extended Bidding

When an auction reaches the final 10 minutes before it closes, any bids received in that final 10 minutes push out the previous close time by an additional 10 minutes. This recurring 10 minute extension is known as “Extended Bidding,” and is signified by a banner above the auction timer on the lot page.

This dynamically extending period is designed to protect against a practice commonly known as “sniping” or “last second bidding” where bidders attempt to enter a quick bid in the final seconds of an auction to secure a win before competing bidders have a chance to counter.

8. Live Bids
8. Live Bids

Live bids lots are a special type of auction lot on Charitybuzz. Live bid lots on Charitybuzz are paired with a real world, physical auction, where that real world auction is often scheduled to occur at a later date. You can distinguish Live Bid lots by the “Live Bid” label in the title of the lot, and additional description text at the start of the lots “Overview” tab.

In a Live Bid lot on Charitybuzz, a lot is created that is similar to any other auction lot on the site. These special lots last for similar amounts of time and bidding occurs normally by our users.

Things start to differ after a Charitybuzz Live Bid lot closes. After it closes and the winning bidder is chosen, that winning bidder’s bid amount or (if it exists) the max bid amount associated with that winning bid, are taken and entered into the associated real world auction. For example, if a bidder on Charitybuzz wins at $12,000 with an unrealized max bid of $15,000, then that $15,000 dollar amount is passed on into the real world auction.

Before the winning bidders bid or max bid amount is passed on, someone from Charitybuzz contacts that winner after the Charitybuzz lot closes and before the real world auction opens. This is to confirm if the bidder would like to increase their bid or max bid amount before it’s entered into the real world auction.

What happens during the real world auction? Each individual one may vary. Charitybuzz does not own or operate any real world auctions, nor does Charitybuzz require any partners to follow a specific auction model. We make no claims to the consistency of real world auction experiences and encourage bidders to contact us for more details as needed.

In our experience, real world auctions tied to Charitybuzz Live Bid lots are typically executed by our partners in a few common ways.

In one scenario, if an auction house and an auctioneer is present, winning live bids from Charitybuzz Live Bid lots are treated as “absentee” bids. This normally means that the Charitybuzz winning bid is placed in the auctioneers books as a bid. As the auctioneer conducts the auction, they will bring up and enter the Charitybuzz winning bid during the course of the auction as the current price or next minimum bid value approaches the Charitybuzz winner’s bid amount. In this scenario, other people in the real world room are expected to bid against the auctioneer, not the Charitybuzz winning bidder. If no one is bidding in the room, the auctioneer will typically keep bidding up the price until the Charitybuzz Live Bid winner wins the real world auction.

In other models, an audience member (including, but not limited to a charity partner employee) might act as a proxy for the winning Charitybuzz bidder. They will usually bid on behalf of the winning Charitybuzz Live Bid winner during the normal course of that auction, using whatever means provided for that auction house (i.e. paddles, etc.)

After the auction is completed, someone from Charitybuzz contacts our bidder to let them know the outcome. If that Charitybuzz Live Bid bidder has won, payment occurs as usual. If that Charitybuzz Live Bid bidder did not win, they will be notified accordingly.

9. Reserve Bids and Prices
9. Reserve Bids and Prices

A reserve bid is a bid placed by Charitybuzz on behalf of the seller up to the minimum reserve (if applicable). Bids placed by Charitybuzz on behalf of the seller up to the amount of the reserve, will be counted toward the total bid count displayed on the lot page’s bid box.

10. Refunds
10. Refunds

Refunds are rewarded on a case-by-case basis and at the sole discretion of Charitybuzz, LLC. Refunds shall only be considered in instances where (i) the seller has failed to deliver the elements contemplated under the lot details/description within the timelines outlined in the lot details OR within 30 days of purchase, whichever is later, and (ii) where the seller/redemption contact are not showing good faith efforts to support the redemption or delivery of the purchase. No refunds shall be granted due to (i) buyer's remorse, or (ii) the bidder/buyer's lack of familiarity with Charitybuzz fees, including Buyer's Premium, or (iii) any request for reimbursement based on perceived value or emotional satisfaction where the lot was delivered by the seller in accordance with the lot details, or (iv) the bidder/buyer’s failure to diligently attempt to schedule an Experience in good faith, or (v) loss or delay of item delivery resulting from bidder/buyer’s failure to provide timely/accurate shipping information.

11. Experience Redemptions
11. Experience Redemptions

Experiences auctioned on Charitybuzz.com go through a specific redemption process to coordinate details and complete. That process normally involves messaging and scheduling between all parties (i.e. winners, charities, sellers, venues). Details discussed include but are not limited to experience dates, arrival procedures, airfare, hotel accommodations, restrictions, will-call requirements, and any other on-site notes. Scheduling requires an initial request sent by the customer, and a followup confirmation submitted by relevant redemption contacts.

By using Charitybuzz to bid and win lots, bidders agree to use the Redemption Center exclusively (where enabled) to message and schedule all experiences – doing so is a requirement of redeeming experiences through Charitybuzz. In addition, bidders agree that they are bound by all site terms of use and auction conditions of sale.
