Few would have guessed that a shy, accordion-playing teenager would go on to become a pop culture icon and the biggest-selling comedy recording artist of all time, with classic song and music video parodies such as “Eat It,” “Like a Surgeon,” “Smells Like Nirvana,” “Amish Paradise,” “White & Nerdy” and “Word Crimes.” Now in his fourth decade as America’s foremost song parodist, "Weird Al" has been the recipient of numerous awards, including five Grammys (out of sixteen total nominations), an Emmy Award for his 2022 biopic Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, a string of Gold & Platinum albums and a star on Hollywood Walk of Fame. Earlier this year, Yankovic celebrated the 10th anniversary of Mandatory Fun, the first-ever LP to debut #1 on the Billboard 200 album chart, with the release of “Polkamania!,” a polka medley, which blitzes through bits of songs by Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion and Lil Nas X among many others.
In addition to his cult-hit feature film UHF, The Weird Al Show and numerous AL-TV specials he has made for MTV and VH1 over the years, Yankovic has remained a staple of film and television, from appearances on The Simpsons, 30 Rock, The Goldbergs and How I Met Your Mother to performing live on the Primetime Emmy Awards and starring in his own concert specials for Disney, VH1 and Comedy Central. His prolific voice acting work includes Milo Murphy’s Law, Bojack Horseman, Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Wander Over Yonder, and the DC animated feature Batman vs. Robin.
