Betsy Pollock is an accomplished feature film producer, line producer, UPM and First Assistant Director. In her 25-year career in the motion picture industry, she has worked on over 100 film projects. She co-produced the 2004 Academy Award® winning short film TWO SOLDIERS, and for 16 years was Associate Dean and Director of Production, First Year at AFI (American Film Institute Conservatory) in Los Angeles.
Pollock was Associate Producer of the feature film WIND, directed by Carroll Ballard and was First Assistant Director on STEALING HOME, LADY IN WHITE and GOOD BURGER, among many other commercials and documentaries. She was Head of Production for Filmlink International based in Tokyo and Head of the Producing Discipline at the North Carolina School of the Arts from 2000 through 2003. In 2005 Pollock co-founded the PSA program for the non-profit organization, Women In Film. It was designed to produce and distribute public service announcements for local organizations supporting women’s issues. Pollock was a WIF board member and is now on the board of the non-profit organization, Greenlight Women where she also heads up it’s Event Programming.
Pollock is one of the most experienced and thoroughly trained producers in the industry with expertise in all aspects of film production including creative, location shooting and logistics, budgeting, story analysis and production planning. She has created workshops for film schools such as University of New Orleans and has provided production consultation to independent filmmakers prior to their production. As Associate Dean of Production she executive produced over 84 films annually for the 16 years of her tenure.
In January of 2020, Pollock launched Betsy Pollock Production Planning/Consultation. Pollock is providing production planning workshops in the U.S. and internationally, consulting services to independent filmmakers and building a network and a training program for fellow creatives interested in conducting workshops.
