Are you looking to launch/build/scale a food brand in New York City? Spend the day with Elly Truesdell, who oversaw product innovation at Whole Foods and launched hundreds of brands (like RXBar, Sir Kensington’s, Spiked Seltzer, Stumptown Coffee, Purely Elizabeth, Luke’s Lobster) in her nearly ten years there.
Visit several production facilities, meet the makers, taste New York’s best artisanal foods, and finish the day with a light bite at an acclaimed restaurant. Elly Truesdell has spent her career driving strategic growth in the Natural and Organic Food industry, shaping the landscape of some of the fastest growing, most innovative categories and sectors of food. After nearly a decade at Whole Foods Market as Global Director of Local Brands & Product Innovation, and most recently as an executive with Canopy Foods, a strategic co-packing company, Elly has deep experience across several verticals of the industry.
During her time at Whole Foods, Elly supported the growth and national expansion of dozens of today’s most beloved brands, offering expertise in retail strategy, brand development, supply chain, co-packing and product innovation. In June 2019, Truesdell became Partner at Almanac Insights, a non-traditional investment fund founded by David Barber, where she is able to bring her expertise in brand, purchasing, and supply chain to the investor side. Almanac invests in exceptional consumer and platform technologies that further the evolution of food: a movement toward better supply chains, access, transparency and exceptional methods of production. Elly holds a B.A in Media Studies from the University of Virginia and got her start in food volunteering on an organic vegetable farm in Sudbury, Massachusetts. She sits on the advisory board of Wellness in the Schools and FOOD-X.
