Chris Davis is the Head of Television for Echo Lake Entertainment shepherding more than 30 projects in development including series, mini-series and television movies. During his tenure there, Chris and the team at Echo Lake have set up a two-hour film with HBO about the making of The Godfather, a period miniseries with The BBC, the quirky historical comedy The Great at Hulu starring Elle Fanning and Nicholas Hoult and the company’s first series Van Helsing, one of SyFy’s highest rated shows which is set to return this fall for its fourth season.
Prior to joining Echo Lake, Chris worked at A&E for over a decade, first in the publicity department and then in movies and mini-series. From there he moved into scripted development, helping to launch A&E’s first two scripted drama series, The Cleaner as well as The Beast. As Manager of Development and Current programming for A&E scripted series, he also oversaw Breakout Kings, Longmire, Bates Motel, Those Who Kill and The Returned.
He holds a degree from the University of Hartford and lives in Los Angeles.
Since its founding in 1998, Echo Lake Productions has produced and/or financed more than 30 films. The company’s films have earned numerous awards including 8 Academy Award nominations and one Academy Award win. Echo Lake is interested in high-end specialty films, especially those aimed at a mature audience. The company has a non-exclusive deal with FilmNation International with regard to international distribution. Echo Lake also manages the Blue Lake Media Fund, which invests in the company’s projects and looks to finance films in the $10 and 30 million budget range. Echo Lake’s television division has set up scripted television projects in the US and abroad.
