Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats began when Headmistress Simons moved into her 100 year old craftsman home, only to discover a number of stray feral cats living in her shed. These unfixed cats were soon having babies and so our Headmistress began her own studies on the socialization of feral kittens. She quickly learned that cats can have a lot of babies and simply adopting them out would not fix the problem. (Did you know that two unaltered cats and their offspring exponentially over 7 years could produce 420,000 cats?!) The Headmistress learned about TNR and began to get her colony fixed. She began helping other colonies in the South LA area get fixed and socialized and adopted out those kittens. In 2009, the Headmistress applied for and received the non-profit status for Kitty Bungalow Charm School for Wayward Cats. She continues to dedicate her time and resources to ending the proliferation of homeless kittens, providing socialization services for feral kittens, placing them in life long loving homes and sterilizing truant grown ferals throughout the city of Los Angeles. The cats from the original colony still live on the grounds of the bungalow: Mama cat, Target, Manilla, Phillip, Jekyll, Moby, Tina, Stubs, Evie, Yogi and Wally.
