The Lung Transplant Project was inspired by a group of lung transplant recipients who met at New York Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. We were so grateful to the selfless donors and doctors who gave us a second chance at life that we felt compelled to help in some way.
We asked our doctors ”How can we help?”. Their response was simple: help us raise awareness and donations for the life-saving research being done to improving outcomes for lung transplant patients. We answered their call for help with a resounding “Yes!” “Yes!” to reducing, or even eliminating, pre-transplant waiting times. “Yes!” to eradicating life-threatening organ rejections and infections.
