Beth Schacter is a writer, producer and director who currently has two series on air. Schacter is writing, executive producing and co-showrunning the new anthology series, Super Pumped: The Battle for Uber, along with Brian Koppelman and David Levien, which premieres February 27th on Showtime. Each season of Super Pumped will explore a story that rocked the business world and changed our culture. Super Pumped's first season, starring Joseph Gordon Levitt, Uma Thurman & Kyle Chandler, explores the story of Uber, based on Mike Isaac’s bestselling book. The series depicts the roller-coaster ride of the upstart transportation company, embodying the highs andlows of Silicon Valley. Gordon-Levitt plays Travis Kalanick Uber’s CEO, who ultimately was ousted in a boardroom coup.
After writing and producing on Season 5 of Showtime’s Billions, which is set in the world of billionaires and global high finance, Schacter is now co-showrunning season 6 of the hit series, which will return Sunday, January 23rd. The new season will focus on Corey Stoll’s character, alongside Paul Giamatti’s Chuck Rhoades and Maggie Siff’s Wendy Rhoades, after the departure of Damian Lewis. Schacter’s previous writing and producing credits for television include Soundtrack (Netflix) Bunheads (Freeform) Seal Team (CBS) Quantico (ABC) and pilots for NBC, MTV and USA. Schacter wrote and directed the feature film Normal Adolescent Behavior starring Amber Tamblyn, which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and sold to New Line Cinema. She adapted her short story The Break Up 500 for producer Lynda Obst and the Duplass Brothers. Her theater credits include writing and directing Turned Out starring Zosia Mamet and Jesse Williams, directing Leslye Headland's Tits and directing Eric Ledgin's Tell Me Everything, all for Unscreened, the wildly popular one act plays produced by Jordana Mollick. Schacter is a graduate of Columbia University, where she received a Master of Fine Arts degree. She currently resides in New York.
