Laray Mayfield has worked with the Oscar-nominated director David Fincher for 35 years. In 1999, she made her transition from casting music videos and commercials to feature films with Fincher’s Fight Club, starring Ed Norton and Brad Pitt. Since then, her collaboration with Fincher has resulted in an extensive list of award-winning features Panic Room, The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button, Zodiac, The Social Network, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, and Gone Girl, Mank and The Killer. Notable recent features that Laray cast include Antebellum directed by Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz and Dead For a Dollar directed by Walter Hill where she also served as an Executive Producer. In 2012, Laray delved into television with the series HOUSE OF CARDS on Netflix, for which she and her partner Julie Schubert won the 2013 Emmy for ‘Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series’ and were nominated for the same Emmy in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Their work on this series has also been honored by the Casting Society of America; Laray won the Artios award for ‘Outstanding Achievement in Casting for a Television Drama Pilot’ in 2013, then Laray and Julie were nominated for "Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series" in 2014 and 2015. Their extraordinary work on Netflix is not exclusive to HOUSE OF CARDS. Together they cast all the MARVEL series for Netflix and THE FIRST for Hulu. Laray went on to cast MINDHUNTER season one and two with David Fincher. Laray is currently casting The Border pilot for FX with Daniel Zelman as the show runner . She has feature films in development with Walter Hill and as a producer with Amblin Entertainment and with Jessica Biel and Michelle Purple's company Iron Ocean Films. In 2015, Laray served as a panel judge for the Heath Ledger Scholarship. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and the Television Academy.
