You’ll also gain access to the exclusive Tennisdorf, the 2,000 m2 sponsors’ VIP area and membership of the Swiss Indoors Business Club. The numbers 2 and 7 are not the new winning numbers in the lottery, behind them are the first top-class player commitments for this year's Swiss Indoors. The top duo is led by the youngest world number 1 of all time, the Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz (ATP 2), followed by the Dane Holger Rune (ATP 7). Just a few months ago, the two 19-year-olds were shooting stars. In the meantime, they have become outstanding figures in world tennis.
Already at the age of 19, Alcaraz has become the measure of all things. He will transform tennis and lead it into a new dimension, tennis experts agree. The high-flyer from Murcia has already conquered the Indian Wells and Buenos Aires titles this year, and last week he triumphed after defeating Tsitsipas in the final in Barcelona. Particularly feared are the immense force and precision behind his strokes. Alcaraz will play his opening match at St. Jakob on Monday, October 23, 2023, as part of Super Monday. If he is successful in the game, the journey will continue on Wednesday, 25 October. Not only Alcaraz, but Holger Rune has also taken the hearts of the fans by storm and really stirred up the tennis scene with his carefree manner and his varied game.
Entering the top ten is only an intermediate goal for the ambitious Dane, who reached the final at last year's Swiss Indoors (defeat against Félix Auger-Aliassime) and the following week, at the Master 1000 of Paris Bercy, caused a sensation with 5 victories against top ten players. The ATP Newcomer of the Year award was the logical consequence. He started this year's clay court season convincingly with the final qualification in Monte Carlo and his victory in Munich. His first-round match at the Swiss Indoors is scheduled for Tuesday, October 24, 2023. His round of 16 would take place on Thursday, October 26.
Note: G13 Box seat holders have access to the exclusive Tennisdorf, the 2,000 m2 sponsors’ VIP area and membership of the Swiss Indoors Business Club. And will they have the option of booking catering (three-course menu excl. drinks) per person for an additional charge.
