Collect this impressive homage to the Statue of Liberty by the renowned Peter Max, one of the most prominent pop artists of our era!
Details:
Delineated in Max's signature bold style with painterly brushstrokes and vibrant color juxtapositions, this piece presents the American flag in a myriad of colors surrounded by an aqua blue border against a background rendered in shades of yellow and green with expressive painterly gestural marks and the artist's signature in a rainbow of hues. Interestingly, Peter Max's patriotic theme goes back to the year of America's bicentennial. For the 4th of July in 1976, Max created a special installation as well as an art book entitled "Peter Max Paints America," which included a painting of each of the fifty states to commemorate America’s bicentennial. Six years later, in 1982, Max painted six Lady Liberties on the White House lawn. He also played a role in the statue's restoration, which was completed in 1986. Max has dubbed himself "America’s own most patriotic artist."
