Bid on your chance to take home this rare Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto Signed Baseball!
Before making his way to Major League Baseball (MLB) with the LA Dodgers, Yoshinobu Yamamoto was known as one of the best pitchers in Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) during his time with Orix Buffaloes and has since become a champion across NPB, World Baseball Classic (WBC), and the Olympics. While there are few ML pitchers who have won Triple Crowns, Yamamoto won three Triple Crowns in a row, in addition to receiving three straight Eiji Sawamura Awards. Yamamoto finished the 2021 season with an 18–5 record and 206 strikeouts, along with a 1.39 earned run average (ERA) which led the league for the season. During his time with the NPB, Yamamoto achieved a win-loss record of 70-29, a 1.82 ERA, and 922 strikeouts. He has a 4-1 win-loss record, a 3.21 ERA, and 53 strikeouts since starting with MLB to this month.
Shohei Ohtani began his professional career in the NPB with the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, where he led the team to the 2016 Japan Series, won multiple Best Nine awards both as a Designated Hitter and Designated Pitcher, as well as the Pacific League MVP in 2016. He achieved a win-loss record of 42-14, a 2.52 ERA, 624 strikeouts, and 48 home runs during his time with NPB. In 2017, Ohtani signed with the LA Angels, where he spent the first six years of his time in MLB. Ohtani became the first to be unanimously selected twice as American League (AL) MVP in 2021 and 2023, and the second MLB MVP of Japanese descent. Ohtani signed a 10-year, $700 million contract with the LA Dodgers in December 2023, breaking the record not only as a transcendent baseball player, but also as the largest contract in professional sports history. Both Yamamoto and Ohtani played for Japan in the 2023 World Baseball Classic with Ohtani dramatically striking- out his then Angel teammate, Mike Trout, in the ninth inning of the WBC championship game, thereby securing Japan's 3-2 victory over Team USA. This WBC ball is one of 23 that was signed by Yamamoto and Ohtani after this iconic win, presenting a rare opportunity to own a piece of baseball history!
