Aram Tertzakian co-founded XYZ Films in 2008 alongside partners Nick Spicer and Nate Bolotin. Before founding XYZ Films, Tertzakian primarily focused on creative development, having held various positions for a diverse group of filmmakers and producers. These included Academy Award-winning director Alexander Payne (The Descendants, Sideways, About Schmidt) at Ad Hominem Enterprises, veteran producers Frank Marshall and Kathleen Kennedy (The Bourne franchise, The Adventures of Tin Tin, Munich) at the Kennedy/Marshall Company, and producer Ted Field (Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Last Samurai) at Radar Pictures.
Prior to starting XYZ, Nate Bolotin was a senior executive at Beverly Hills-based management company The Collective where he focused on structured film finance deals and sales. With 10 years+ experience in the independent film space, Nate has been involved in the financing and licensing of over 200 films. Nate received a B.A. in Economics and a B.A. in Film Studies from U.C. Santa Barbara as well as an MFA from UCLA Producer’s Program.
Prior to starting XYZ, Nick Spicer produced Spanish-language feature film Love, Pain & Vice Versa, which premiered at the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival. The film was shot entirely in Mexico City, as a co-production between Mexico and Spain. Lionsgate acquired the film for U.S. distribution. From 2006 – 2008, Spicer was a partner in Idiomatic Entertainment, an unscripted television development and production company. There, he developed reality series for Animal Planet (“Groomer Has It”), Comedy Central (“Reality Bites Back”), VH1 (“The Pick-Up Artist”), and produced pilots for HGTV and A&E.
