Sage currently serves as the co-host of ESPN’s flagship show, SportsCenter, at 6pm ET. She also serves as the lead host for SportsCenter on the Road, which includes the Super Bowl, the NBA Finals, the World Series, The Masters, the College Football Playoffs, the NCAA Final Four and many more events. Sage has also contributed to a variety of other ESPN programs including First Take and Mike & Mike, she hosted The Scripps National Spelling Bee from 2010-2013, and ABC and ESPN’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve during the inaugural College Football Playoff.
Beyond her work for ESPN, Steele has hosted ABC’s telecast of The Miss America pageant, she’s been a featured guest host on ABC’s The View, made guest appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live and has been profiled by Rolling Stone, The Wall Street Journal, Vibe and Huffington Post, to name a few. Steele currently co-hosts ABC’s New Year’s Day telecast of The Rose Parade in Pasadena, CA since 2019. In March of 2020, she co-hosted the ABC special, Volcano Live with The Bachelor’s Chris Harrison, featuring Nik Wallenda’s latest tight-rope feat across a Nicaraguan volcano.
Sage’s journalism journey began at Indiana University, from where she graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Communications. She proceeded to work at local affiliates and regional sports networks in South Bend, IN, Indianapolis, IN, Tampa, FL and Washington, DC/Baltimore before accepting her dream job at ESPN in February of 2007. Beyond the spotlight, Steele is a proud Army brat with a philanthropic and charitable heart for many passionate causes. Sage is proud to be a new member of the Board of Directors for The V Foundation for Cancer Research, as well as an Advisory Board member for the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation (MMRF), Alzheimers Association, and serves on the Board for the USA Basketball Foundation. Most importantly, Steele is a proud mother of three teenagers and resides with them in Connecticut.
