Chicago native Terry Abrahamson won a Grammy for the songs he wrote with Blues legend, Muddy Waters. His songs have been performed by Prince, James Cotton, John Lee Hooker, Shemekia Copeland, George Thorogood, Joan Jett and Clarence Clemons of the E Street Band. His memoir, In the Belly of the Blues, is part of the permanent collection of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and has garnered praise from Jimmy Page, Johnny Winter and Elvin Bishop; his photos hang in the Blues Hall of Fame in Memphis and he is a 2014 Chicago Blues Hall of Fame inductee. He has just completed his illustrated kids' history of the music he loves: “The Blues Parade” which premiered as part of the Chicago Public Library's 2020 African American History Month celebration. He has just completed his illustrated kid-friendly history of the music he loves: “The Blues Parade.” Terry’s radio show “In the Belly of the Blues” can be heard Sundays on Northwestern University’s wnur.org. He speaks and shouts about the Blues at libraries, museums, music festivals and schools. His work celebrating the Blues has been presented on the big screen, the stage and television.
