Description of piece: This beautiful vibrantly colored lithograph, was created in 2000, numbered 115/200 from a very small signed and numbered limited edition of only 200 pieces. Signed by both the artist and Jack Nicklaus. An exceptional portrait of Jack Nicklaus, raising his club in victory after winning the 1986 Masters Tournament in Augusta, GA. The moment is legend.
Nicklaus won his sixth Masters by one stroke over Tom Kite (who missed a 12-foot birdie putt on the final hole) and Greg Norman (who bogeyed 18). Jack Nicklaus was 46, the oldest man ever to win the Masters. Here's that legendary moment (on the 17th green, clinching) captured by Pop Art legend Peter Max. Widely regarded as the greatest professional golfer of all time, Jack Nicklaus won a total of 18 career major championships, while producing 19 second place and 9 third place finishes, over a span of 25 years. Nicklaus focused on the major championships (Masters Tournament, U.S. Open, Open Championship, and PGA Championship), played a selective schedule of regular PGA Tour events, finishing with 73 victories, third on the all-time list. Nicklaus' signature is prominently visible on the piece.
