Hannah Minghella has served as president of Production for Columbia Pictures since October 2010. In that role, Minghella works closely with Columbia Pictures president Doug Belgrad to oversee all aspects of development and production at the legendary motion picture label.
Her projects have included Captain Phillips, directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Tom Hanks, American Hustle, starring Christian Bale, Amy Adams, Bradley Cooper, Jeremy Renner, and Jennifer Lawrence, and directed by David O. Russell, and The Monuments Men, starring George Clooney, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, Jean Dujardin, Bob Balaban, Hugh Bonneville, and Cate Blanchett, which Clooney also directed. She also oversaw the #1 hits 21 Jump Street; The Amazing Spider-Man™; Skyfall, the most successful of all James Bond films, and Hotel Transylvania.
Minghella joined the company in 2005 as a director of creative affairs under Sony Pictures Entertainment Co-Chair Amy Pascal, collaborating closely with Belgrad on the James Bond film Casino Royale and other projects. In 2008, Minghella became president of production of Sony Pictures Animation, overseeing production of the live-action/animated hit The Smurfs and SPA’s CG-animated release Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs; and the development of Aardman’s Arthur Christmas and The Pirates! Band of Misfits and SPA's Hotel Transylvania.
Before joining Sony, Minghella worked alongside director Steven Shainberg to help start Vox 3 Films, after having spent four years as a creative executive at Miramax Films in New York. Born in England, Minghella co-founded the UK’s Stellar Network, which provides resources and support to film, theater, and television professionals.
