This unreal experience is a dream for any music lover. You and your guest will experience firsthand the magic of the world’s most famous recording studio, Abbey Road Studios in London. As a special guest of GRAMMY®-winning American composer Christopher Tin, you will sit in on a one day session--July 19, 2016 -- as he records an album with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and Angel City Chorale. And even though you and your guest will be required to sit quietly as these sessions are being recorded, you will have the opportunity to speak extensively with Christopher when he isn’t recording!
You will need to provide your own transportation and accommodations for this experience, but this will be well worth the trip. One can only get inside Abbey Road Studios on official business and by invitation only, making this an exclusive opportunity not available to the public.
Christopher Tin’s critically acclaimed work in films, video games, and commercials have won over a dozen awards and accolades since his composing career began. His theme song “Baba Yetu” from the video game Civilization IV became the first piece of video game music ever to win a GRAMMY® Award, and his album Calling All Dawns won the last GRAMMY for Best Classical Crossover Album. His follow-up album The Drop That Contained the Sea opened at No.1 on Billboard’s classical chart, and was given its world premiere at Carnegie Hall. He is a Board Member and Advocacy Vice-Chair of the Los Angeles Chapter of The Recording Academy®.
Abbey Road Studios is world-famous for being the studios where the Beatles recorded almost all of their albums and singles from 1962-1970. The studios were actually named Abbey Road in 1970 after the Beatles released their Abbey Road album. Thousands of Beatles fans have flocked to visit this historical icon over the years, particularly the legendary crosswalk featured on the cover of the album. The Beatles weren’t the only music icons who frequented Abbey Road. Notable producers and engineers who have worked at the venue include Sir George Martin, Geoff Emerick, Norman “Hurricane” Smith, Ken Scott and Alan Parsons, to name a few.
