For over 100 years people have been bringing Antique Bakery's coal oven baked bread to their tables, now Paul Gerard, Joe Castelo, and Rocco Ancarola are bringing the tables to the bread.
Antique Bar & Bakery is serving an American menu founded in the flavors we grew up with; coal baked Chicken, Fish, Steak, pastas, and an array of farm fresh vegetables and antipasti served family style in a mid to late century setting that will make you feel at home. The northeast in the 50s, 60s & 70s was a time & place in American history that bred the culture that changed us forever. Now, Antique Bar & Bakery will bring back the that history through a taste of yesteryear and bread we'll never forget.
Native New Yorker Chef Paul Gerard has traveled the world, fueled by a love for good food and adventure. At 20 he left Brooklyn for New Orleans honed his skills at some of The Big Easy’s hottest Restaurants including Restaurant August, Bayona, Peristyle, and Gautreau’s. His time at Susan Spicer’s Bayona is still referred to as the restaurant’s ‘golden era’ as he and his mates he came up with in that kitchen all went on to achieve great things in the culinary world. Gerard’s came back to NY, and moved into corporate culinary community joining Todd English’s management team before taking on Executive Chef positions at China Grill Management, Soho Grand Hotel and Soho House. Returning to his New York roots, he launched his own restaurants including Exchange Alley, capturing the essence of the scene of his youth, E’s Bar, and Belle Reve – a small place that is pure Big Apple. He’s a musician, poet, and the creator of numerous radio, television and online programs, including his own radio show Eating Disorder.
