Madelyn Alfano is the CEO--Chief Emotional Officer--and owner of Maria's Italian Kitchen, a 100% woman-owned restaurant group and one of California's premier privately owned restaurant chains. With headquarters in Los Angeles, CA, and 380+ employees, Madelyn led the transformation from a family-owned single-location grocery/deli to an 8-location multimillion dollar business by acquisition, organic growth, and brand-building into a profitable casual dining, central commissary, and catering kitchen enterprise.
As Chair of the Statewide California Restaurant Association in 2020, Madelyn worked with State of California and local government officials to secure public policy to protect 100,000 restaurant owners and their employees during the COVID-19 pandemic. She was honored with the CRA's Elizabeth Burns Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007.
Madelyn is an active leader in the Young Presidents Organization and Co-Chair of the YPO Food and Beverage Network representing 10,000 hospitality owners, franchisees, and public companies globally.
In 2019 Madelyn was presented with the Beacon Award on behalf of The Foodservice Council for Women, which recognizes woman leaders who serve as beacons for the industry, through leadership, contributions, and inspiration. In 2021 the San Fernando Valley Business Journal recognized Madelyn as one of the top 200 Most Influential Leaders.
A graduate of UCLA with a BS in Psychology and MDE from the UCLA Anderson School of Business, Madelyn, sits on the Board of Advisors for the Price Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation at the UCLA Anderson School of Business. She lives in Venice Beach, CA with her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Tucker, and has three children.
