Limited Edition Lithograph by Andy Warhol of Fashion Designer Diane Von Furstenberg. Diane is a Belgian-American fashion designer best known for her iconic wrap dress. She initially rose to prominence when she married into the German princely House of Fürstenberg, as the wife of Prince Egon of Fürstenberg. She became a Fashion Designer in 1970 and hit it big with her wrap dress in 1974. By 1976, she was designing a fragrance and Cosmetic line. She is still in business today under the brand DVF. Andy Warhol loved high profile strong women and found Diane to be the epitome of the "working woman" of her times. In 1979 the Whitney Museum in New York City held the now famous exhibition “Andy Warhol: Portraits of the 70s”. A limited edition work of these lithographs was published in a worldwide edition of just 200 copies. Each limited edition plate measures approximately 8” by 8” with an image size of 7” by 7”. This plate is from edition #84/200.

Andy Warhol was an American artist who was a leading figure in the visual art movement known as pop art. His works explore the relationship between artistic expression, celebrity culture, and advertisement that flourished by the 1960s. After a successful career as a commercial illustrator, Warhol became a renowned and sometimes controversial artist. The Andy Warhol Museum in his native city, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, holds an extensive permanent collection of art and archives. It is the largest museum in the United States dedicated to a single artist. In 1979 the Whitney Museum in New York City held the now famous exhibition “Andy Warhol: Portraits of the 70s”.
