Under an African moon a few hours before dawn on October 30, 1974, 32-year-old Muhammad Ali sent his 25-year-old rival George Foreman crashing to the floor with a left and chopping right. Ali had predicted that “after the 10th round, Foreman will fall on his face from exhaustion.” As it developed, Foreman toppled from exhaustion in the eighth. Groping to his feet, he was counted out by Zack Clayton, the referee, at 2 minutes 58 seconds of the round. Muhammad Ali became only the second man in boxing history to regain the world heavyweight championship, with the eighth-round knockout of George Foreman.
The crowd in assembly of nearly 60,000 in the “Stade du 20 Mai” had been cheering Ali on with the chant of “Ali, bombaye,” meaning “Ali, kill him,” in the regional Lingala Bantu language. This chant became memorialized, and the basis of song and legend alike:

This rare album cover, from a small pressing of Ali-Bombaye Special Disco Version, has been made unique with Muhammad Ali’s addition of his signature, directly on the cover beneath the central title emblem. Ali has signed in a large, distinct signature in bold, black marker, “Muhammad Ali”.
Framed within its original black-framed presentation display with multiple layers of custom matting in black and silver, the display is completed with a metal title plate, which reads, ‘MUHAMMAD ALI / “The Greatest” / Lifetime Record: 56 Wins (37 KO’s) - 5 Losses / International Boxing Hall of Fame Inductee 1990'. Framed size measures 16-3/8" in height x 16-3/8" width x 1" depth.
Muhammad Ali’s signature examined and authenticated by PSA/DNA, and the piece is accompanied by a full Letter of Authenticity from PSA/DNA. This rare vintage collectible shows signs commensurate with age.
