Dustin Luis Pedroia was born in Woodland, California and is a Major League Baseball second baseman for the Boston Red Sox. He excelled in baseball at Arizona State University, and was drafted in the second round of the 2004 draft. Through his brief career in the majors, Pedroia has won several awards, including the 2007 AL Rookie of the Year award and the 2008 AL MVP.
